A bit of who we are.

The Arizona School of Ministry is a department of the Arizona Ministry Network of the Assemblies of God. We exist to provide the educational requirement for leaders seeking to grow in their knowledge of the Bible and effectiveness in the ministry. Our classes are designed to meet the education requirements for the formal credential process of the Assemblies of God at a fraction of the price of a traditional seminary.

What People Are Saying

“ASOM has allowed the Arizona Ministry Network to grow substantially over the last 10 years. We have grown by 300 Ministers who have gone through the Arizona School of Ministry”.

— Stephen Harris | AZ Network Superintendent

“Throughout the church planting process, teaching for ASOM afforded me an opportunity to invest in a new generation of ministers.  The ASOM team makes teaching straightforward, accessible, and easy; perfect for anyone in the chaotic schedule of ministry."

— Alex Ferren | Midtown Church, Kansas City

“I love teaching the ASOM students. It’s always exciting to connect with emerging leaders in the AG—especially those who are intentional about increasing their church finance and administration skillset”.

— Rollie Dimos, CIA, CFE, CISA | Director of Internal Audit for AG National Office

“The AZ School of Ministry provides experienced qualified teachers, that are effectively helping to equip leaders in our churches. Those who finish all the courses have completed the education requirements for ministers credentials with the Assemblies of God.”

— Leigh Metcalf | Secretary & Treasurer AZAG Network

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost?

Each class is $90. Students are responsible for buying a textbook as well. Most can be found on Amazon for around $20. There is a one time $20 new student fee which allows us to set up a transcript for you.

Is it accredited?

No. Our classes are not accredited and will not transfer to any formal university or seminary. However, we do have a relationship with some of our Assemblies of God universities that will accept ASOM classes as electives up to 36 credits. We do strive to provide a very high level of experience and several of our teachers hold doctoral degrees and teach in university settings.

Where can I get a transcript?

If you need a transcript, please use the transcript order form below on this page!

What denomination are you and what do you believe about the Bible?

We are an Assemblies of God school ran through the Arizona Network of the AG. We are a pentecostal tradition with a high view of Scripture. For a helpful list of our beliefs about Jesus, Scripture, and other important theological topics please visit: AG 16 Fundamental Truths

How long will it take?

Classes happen once a month. There are 10 classes in each level (Certified, Licensed, and Ordained). Each year also has a practicum component. Most students can finish an entire level in 10-12 months.

What happens when I finish?

Finishing classes is a big accomplishment. If you wish to pursue credentials with the Assemblies of God you will need to go through the formal application process. ASOM provides the educational requirements for credentialing, but does not guarantee approval of your credentials. Application processes such as examination, background check, prior divorce, baptism in the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues, and presbytery interview are all important parts of the application process.
