A bit of who we are.

The Arizona School of Ministry is a department of the Arizona Ministry Network of the Assemblies of God. We exist to provide the educational requirement for leaders seeking to grow in their knowledge of the Bible and effectiveness in the ministry. Our classes are designed to meet the education requirements for the formal credential process of the Assemblies of God at a fraction of the price of a traditional seminary.

Year End Report

This past year marked a significant milestone in the growth and impact of the Arizona School of Ministry. With record-breaking enrollment, expanded scholarship offerings, new cohort launches, and increased diversity among our student body, we have seen God move in extraordinary ways across our network.

Our 2024–2025 Year-End Report captures the highlights, data, and stories that reflect the heart of ASOM—equipping emerging leaders, empowering local churches, and strengthening the future of ministry in Arizona and beyond.

Whether you’re a student, pastor, supporter, or partner in ministry, we invite you to explore the report and celebrate what we’ve accomplished together. This is more than a snapshot—it’s a testament to what happens when leaders invest in leaders.

 FAQs

  • Each class is $90. In addition, students are responsible for purchasing the required textbook, which is typically available on Amazon for approximately $20.

  • Yes, there is a one-time $20 new student fee. This covers the setup of your academic transcript and student record in our system.

  • Classes meet once a month, and there are 10 classes in each level: Certified, Licensed, and Ordained. Each level also includes a ministry practicum. Most students complete a full level within 10–12 months, depending on their pace and cohort schedule.

  • No, ASOM is not an accredited institution, and our classes do not transfer to formal universities or seminaries for academic credit. However, we do have partnerships with several Assemblies of God universities that may accept ASOM courses as elective credit—up to 36 credits in some cases.

While not accredited, ASOM is committed to delivering a high-caliber educational experience. Many of our instructors hold doctoral degrees and actively teach in university and seminary settings.

  • ASOM is a ministry of the Arizona Ministry Network of the Assemblies of God. We are a Pentecostal school with a high view of Scripture and a deep commitment to Spirit-empowered ministry.

For a full overview of our core theological beliefs—centered on Jesus, Scripture, salvation, and the work of the Holy Spirit—please visit the Assemblies of God's 16 Fundamental Truths.

  • Yes! We can help you launch a cohort at your church in as little as one month.

ASOM handles all registration, grading, and administration—making it simple for local churches to offer training. You’ll just need to provide an instructor who is credentialed with the Assemblies of God (Licensed or Ordained).

When a cohort has five or more students, we also provide an honorarium to the instructor for each class taught.

If you're interested in starting a cohort, please complete our Cohort Interest Form to begin the process.

  • Completing your classes is a significant milestone. If you intend to pursue ministerial credentials with the Assemblies of God, you will need to complete the formal credentialing application process.

ASOM fulfills the educational requirements for each credentialing level but does not guarantee credential approval. The credentialing process includes:

    • A credentialing exam

    • Background check

    • Review of marital history (e.g., prior divorce)

    • Affirmation of Pentecostal beliefs, including baptism in the Holy Spirit with the initial physical evidence of speaking in tongues

    • A presbytery interview

For more details on the full credentialing process, please visit the Arizona Ministry Network Credentials Info page.
